How to I activate the system that alerts me via email when I have an incoming PM?

No guarantee this will work but the settings are here.

(Seems like some members do not get email notifications even when the correct settings are in place, so good luck! I'll be around on and off today and would be willing to test the settings with you but it may take a while.)

You could also try the Pop Up Window on New Messages option and at least get a pop up to let you know when you are on site.

-Click on the User Control Panel (edit, I should have mentioned your email address in your user profile needs to be correct but a warning there, I recently updated my email address and it took WEEKS for Lance to make the change and during that time I could not sign into the site!!!)

-In the drop down panel on the left, select Board Preferences

-Under Board Preferences select Edit Global Settings

I’m not sure this has anything to do with the user configurable settings on the site.

The mail relay that is supposed to be setup by the admin is not working. It’s the same reason that people aren’t getting password reset notifications, why new forum users struggle to get setup, why the classified signup seems to go into a black hole after you fill out the form, etc, etc, etc…

This may have been fixed in the move, I’m not sure, but it wasn’t working for years before that. I’ve not have the nerve to try to update my password here.
