I have been buying from Stew Mac for a long time.... I know it's been more than 35 years.

I order from them at least a couple times a month currently.

I just had my fret tang nipper break that I bought from them about 12 years ago.

So I sent them an email and 2 days later I received a brand new one at no charge!

Also the one they sent me (they have 2 and this is the more expensive/better one) is absolutely amazing!

I have to say that this is the best customer service I have ever had.

Also , I just received an Indian Rosewood fretboard from them recently and not only was it a great price, it was also amazing quality as well.

At first when they only did emails I thought it would be a problem, but it has not been.

StewMac recently replaced about 12 nut slot files for us, N/C, no hassle, very quick and very much appreciated.

StewMac's legendary customer service lives.

I ordered some lacquer from StewMac yesterday at 2:30 pm, got a notification an hour and a half later it had shipped (even though it was supposed to be shipped next day) and it’s now out for delivery.

FedEx usually drops to me around 11 so in less than 24 hours from ordering I’ll have the product.

StewMac is all about the buying experience now for us and that's pretty cool!

Anyone else having trouble with StewMacs website? Neither Safari nor Chrome works. Can’t login, navigate or search. Seems to have been going on for months. I had to use my phone to place an order. That place has gone downhill since Brock took over marketing. That might be a bit harsh, but if the shoe fits…

Delivery to me in Charleston, WV from Athens, OH is super fast. Absolutely no complaints regarding the turnaround time; best in the business, by far.

I have no issues with the website, navigating there from both a PC running Chrome as the browser and Safari on a few i-devices. Maybe it is a specific issue on your computer, Barry. It is a website with a lot of photos and pop-ups. If your computer is set to reject that stuff, maybe that's the issue. Just speculating.

There is good and bad in everything, especially change. Yes, there have been changes at StewMac. I have not suffered from them. Just my experience.

StewMac website just worked fine on Safari and I've seen no issues lately. I've been satisfied overall, delivery is still reasonable and I have no issues if I need to return something.

I’ve been using Edge on an iPad and have had no problems with the StewMac website. I made an order a few days ago that was delivered in two days.

I'm on Safari too, Barry. Zero problems for me on my iPhone, iPad and iMac. Check your preferences, cookies, etc.

I’ve tried all the normal solutions. It does this on my MacBook, Mac desktop, and my new iPad. For a while I could get Chrome to work but now even that locks up. Pretty frustrating.

I've been using Chrome on an iMac without any problems. You might try using an "incognito window" and see if it does the same thing--sometimes settings in the browser (which are ignored by incognito) or extensions can cause problems.

Barry, do you use a VPN? If so that might be an issue, sometimes I have to turn my VPN off to get other websites to open or work properly.

Barry—

This story ends with a recommendation that you pick a local IT shop to be your frequent “fixit” resource. I’m part owner of a business (a law firm) that runs a lot of computers at a pretty high level of security, due to confidentiality risks. We employ 5 IT professionals full time, and contract out lots of the work to specialists. Even with all those resources, stupid, silly problems just like yours happen to us all the time. ALL THE TIME! I had one happen to me just in the last few days. Without help, it would have crippled my ability to do my job. If you pick a good local IT shop and make them your go-to, you probably won’t have these problems. My wife, who works at a much smaller operation than I do, has done this, and it is an extremely valuable business relationship for her. Worth every penny, in my view.

From time to time I have issues with a website that is resolved by disabling my ad blocker. That doesn't seem to be the case here as it is across multiple platforms and devices, but it is something to keep in mind. No issues on StewMac's website for me on Macbook, iPad, or iPhone, but it would save me a lot of money if there were.

Sounds like there's something wrong with your firewall settings or Internet provider. I'd give 'em a call.

Barry, have you rebooted your router? The router is common to all of your devices.

I've had trouble with StewMac's website not being compatible with Safari and it's gone on for several years now. When I was building their amp kits and ordering them I had to use Chrome so the browser did not lock-up at times. It's intermittent or was for me and sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, Safari that is so I used Chrome and no problem.

I did speak to them (email I think IIRC) about it and was told to use Chrome.

Weird. I never had any problems and I use it every day on 3 different devices. I even run the function that hides my real IP to the outside world or something to that effect.

Do you guys keep your systems updated? This might explain some of the problems.

That's very strange indeed. I suspect the problem exists outside of your devices. The router itself, its settings and/or Internet service provider would be my targets. Talk to them and see if their stuff filters out something useful to you.

StewMac's website is very obviously compatible with Safari, and as an ex-website admin I feel confident in saying so.

I've had nothing but excellent service from Stewmacs over the years and regardless of their current interface, am very satisfied. Physical talk is good but responsive emails work just fine.
