I got many comments on this guitar on a couple of forums, and I want to thank everyone who said nice things about it. However, one comment that kept getting repeated was that the guitar looked much better in the video than it did in my pics. Well...at the time of the initial pics, there were a few things working against me:
1) I had not done a final buff of the finish
2) I took the pictures myself and I am bad at taking pics.
3) I took the pics myself.

So to rectify that, I did the final buffing, and I asked my wife to snap a couple of pics because the camera is hers and she knows how to use it! Here are the pics she took with a nice black back drop:

I think it looks like a different guitar. What a difference some good pics make, eh?
Thanks for looking.

Tony

I like that you did mitered purflings. Its only a little more work but it really makes a statement. I like the side position markers, too.

Waddy, My wife took them. She is pretty handy with the camera. I much prefer these pics versus the ones I took!

Douglas, thanks! I love the mitered purfling and I have done it on #2, #3, #4, and #5. Now if I could just complete 4 and 5, you would be able to see the masterful mitering I did on them too!

Nice pictures Tony. Thats something I have to work on too. I take really bad pictures. I think your original pictures where ok. The abalone bridge pins are a nice touch.

The first set of pics was OK, but I much prefer these new ones! Thanks for the compliments.

Tony, it looks great! The finish is very nice, and really makes the koa pop. Im just curious why you went with an ebony bridge instead of bloodwood.

Thats a really good question! Where were you when I was planning this thing? It actually never occurred to me to use a bloodwood bridge. I sort of feel silly now because that would have made a lot of sense! Well...I will be using a ziricote bridge with the ziricote fretboard in the future. I am really surprised it never crossed my mind once to use a bloodwood bridge with the BW fretboard. Where is the "headslap" smiley? [headinwall] [headinwall] [headinwall] [headinwall] [headinwall]
Ahhh...there it is.
