Thanks guys. Yes I did seal the top before doing any work on it after joining the halves. I did that to protect it as much as possible during the build. It is just so easy to dent and scratch.

Here's an update of this build. I have the headstock almost completed. It was a lot of work, and some of my plans changed, but I'm pleased with how it is turning out. I'm still not sure though if it will be used on this guitar though. I may have to go back to the drawing board and design a new slotted headstock for it if this one doesn't look right on the carved body. Anyway, here are a few pics of the bird's beak joint, and the headstock coming together. The carving still has to be inlaid into the headstock and then bound, but it is getting close.

I thought I'd update this a bit. I decided to make another neck for this one to have as another option just to make sure I had something that I liked as an end result. Anyway, this is where this one is at so far.
