Jay: I agree with George L.,this was a 10 year old. None of us come into this world knowing anything ,let alone guitar stuff. We all get it from some other source or hard work. This kid appears to be very keen about guitars.Lets hope you tried to further his education in a constructive way. We never know he may be here in a few years doing the same thing for others. :)

Thanks folks. I haven't given up on him and he's not going any where. He's already been back in the shop and the strings are changed. We talked a bit and he's come off the attitude a little. Seems very willing to learn just needs to slow down a bit, but he is only 10 yrs. old so that may take a while.

Just read some of our posts to see how many old people absolutely know something, but it is not the same as what one of the others absolutely knows.

That's from a kid. I've had adults tell me that Martin guitars are better than Taylor because Martins are hand made by craftsman while Taylor are made in a factory by machines.

Jim:

I've heard that more than once, and not from kids. I overheard a GC employee telling a customer essentially that but the other way around. Martin had become so large that nothing was hand built any more, it was all done by machines. If you wanted a truly hand built guitar, you had to go with Taylor.

I've often thought we should start a thread on the goofiest things we've heard before. I'm sure there are a lot better stories out there than that one.
