Thanks, Rob! People seem to find it very easy to pick up and play, in spite of the unusualness of it. Personally, I really like having the weight of the tuners at the butt end.

I plan to make a series of instruments based on this design - ukes of other sizes, mandos, etc. I'm not imagining making any standard-tuned guitars like this, but I am planning to make octave guitars (standard tuning an octave higher), which will be about the size of a tenor ukulele. I am also planning to make a prototype of a 5 string banjo, which will be the largest instrument of the series, with a scale length of 25.6", made to be tuned and played like a regular banjo. The banjo will have nylon strings and a wood soundboard, like the rest of the instruments in the series. Stay tuned...
