Thanks, Burton. I'll have to try some.

I usually use poplar. It's soft and lightweight also. But maybe not as light as paulownia. It bends easily and doesn't seem to affect the guitar's response much. I use two layers at .110 and laminate them in place. The first layer goes in pieces between extended side supports of the same material and the second layer goes on top. Then I carve them in place. Bit of a pain but it works for me.
