As I can't compete with some of the acoustics already posted, so I'll throw in an electric I recently finished (I build both). 7 string Les P@ul, one piece mahogany body, maple top, Mun ebony fretboard...

My #1 - mid-way through its French polish application. I learned so much on that first build. This one went to a friend in Texas who says she's continued to sweeten up nicely.

My recently completed #1. I've been waiting to post about it until I get some better pictures, but a free ASIA membership sure would be a nice Xmas present! It's a StewMac mahogany dread kit, with a lot of modifications...I made the bridge, swapped out the pre-made braces for red spruce bracing that I carved and voiced myself, ziricote binding/end graft, ebony fretboard with very small fret dots, mun ebony headplate. It sounds better than I could have ever hoped for, I can't wait to build a bunch more! I couldn't have done it without the help I got here on the OLF, especially our own Ken Jones. Ken very graciously shared his shop and knowledge with me on several steps of this build, and I'm grateful to call him a mentor and friend. Thanks Ken, and everyone who helped out when I posted questions here! I'll do a proper thread on this soon.

I have to agree with another poster on Simon's work. I've been staring at this all morning (for the 5 thousandth time) thinking that I need to step my game up! I have that thread bookmarked for when I need motivation/inspiration.

One of my favourite inspirations:

Phillip Kubicki EX Factor bass

Image

First prototype of my own design of a 7-string guitar with heavy Kubicki and Steinberger inspiration. Built by a friend of mine in early 2000's. I'm now getting my own shop together to continue building them myself.
