Cool Dennis! That sure seems like a lot of work to be done in one day though. Bring the harp even if it isn't done. I'm bringing my build that isn't done either. I really want to see your inlay in person :)

Well I can guaranty that's not going to happen in my shop. beehive

I'll be showing up with the challenge trio and a couple of six strings. Oh, and I'll be bringing John Ressler also. He's doing the rosette demo.

Kevin Mason is headed down there with his new baritone with the cool wave inlay.

What else is going to be there?

Things are looking reasonably hopeful for getting my harp guitar strung up in time, although my dad has a cold and thus depending on how well my germ avoidance techniques work, that could result in another last-minute bail. I have one more binding strip to glue, then the fingerboard, and then tomorrow sand the radius and install frets. I'll have some other stuff in any case, but harp guitars are hard to come by so hopefully I can get it ready and convince a few of you to try building them :D

Hope to get in on some jams as well. I've never really done it before so I'll probably just throw off everyone else's rhythm, but it always looks like a lot of fun :)

NO LAST MINUTE BAIL"S !! You Only Get one ! LOLOLOL

 I wouldn't want to sneeze all over everyone's work though. But I'm still in tip top shape for now, so things are looking good. I don't think I'll have any frets in, but otherwise everything's together. All I have to do today is level the bindings that I haven't done yet, slop some shellac on, make a nut, and string 'er up. Also may radius the fingerboard. I didn't get it glued on until late last night so it needs to stay clamped all day.

You know... I could take advantage of this situation and do a fretting demo while I'm there  Although I'll be doing it a little bit differently than I have in the past this time, so it may or may not go smoothly...

It also occurs to me that I probably should have bought some guitar stands. Oh well, I guess they'll just have to lay on their sides.

Can't wait!

I just got back from Hibdon. Joe and I were dropping off the tables and some of the food. Jerry took us to one of the store rooms and showed us the 44,000 pounds of African blackwood that just arrived. . . That place is so cool!

To equal parts my chagrin and ammusement, I also learned that the biker rally is this weekend too. Don't be alarmed if you see 500 bikers in the alley, you haven't taken a wrong turn.

Turn here on Dickson (just before the green awnings.

I just arrived in St. Louis and I forgot the checkbook. Should I bring cash, will Hibdon take credit cards?

Thanks everyone, I had a great time. I know Big Jim got pictures and I have a few too. In the not too distant future, we will put our heads together and start a thread for them. Naturally, if anyone else has any pictures, we'd love to see those too!

It was awesome. I had such a great time. I didn't want to leave. It was cool to meet so many of you in person. I'm looking forward to the next one. I told Jim that unless I'm dead I'll be there next year.
