I don't complain about the Item Pricing usually . What does bother me is having to put together a $50.00- $100.00 to Justify Shipping cost for a $5.00 part that should be mailed for a couple bucks . Granted , I am in business and I understand the cost to process a shipment .... That's my point ... I DO IT for my customers because when they want to spend the $1500.00 they know I've worked for them before

Funny, I just ordered some filler for $6.99 and shipping was $6.95. Didn't bother me at all as I'll get it in 2 days and had confirmation in 2 minutes.

I'll say it again... I thought my $1500 order could have used a bit of a discount. I guess I was wrong. I love Stew Mac and the service they provide. Maybe one day I will get to qualify for some of the discounts some of you were talking about. Until then, on some stuff, I am going to have to hunt around for deals on some items.

I'll mention it again,

For $40 per year membership you can get free shipping on all orders.

As explained to me -- the only discounts offered are on Sloan, Waverly, Gold Star and Golden Age tuners. You have to be invited to participate and there is an expectation that you will need a lot of them.

I purchased my $40 free shipping with an order last week.
That order had free shipping.
Just placed a small order yesterday, free shipping.
After the next two orders, Stewmac will be my default source.
This is a sweet deal that benefits customers and Stemac.

I have to make a large and heavy StewMac order - might be almost a freebie to get the free shipping deal - glad you guys brought it up.

Edit: So got the free shipping for a year for an extra $20. Can't beat that. Plus it is free shipping for returns too.

I realize the intent of the original post. So my comments do not reflect anything towards that...

But I must say that Stew Mac is about as good as it gets for suppliers. I would compare them to a Canadian company Lee Valley. They sell products that are on the upper end of the price spectrum, but just about everything I have bought from them has paid for itself many times over with its quality and design. Customer service is also off the charts. Any time I have had smalls issues they were quickly resolved without so much as a blink.

One example. I was down at the Memphis festival and had Stew Mac ship some supplies down there, this saved me on shipping and customs charges. Turns out two pieces I ordered were broken. I only realized this once I returned home. Fired off an email to Stew Mac and they replied within a few hours and let me know they were shipping replacements... this time to my place in Canada... free of charge.... ummm.. ya that is solid customer service.

So I understand the original post, and its true Stew Mac may not be the ideal place for some items. But for what they do, they do it very well.

J.

Oh! ps.

I to would love for the Stew Max to be offered to Canadian. Even at a very inflated rate I would still jump at the opportunity.

I have sent an email asking about it and the reply was 'unfortunately cant offer it at this time' but I would suggest that my fellow canucks do the same. If they get enough emails they may realize the demand is real and look for a way to make the offer real.

J.
