I always follow these threads (and long for the day I get my workshoppe back so I can join in the contest), somehow I let this one get away from me until I noticed Fillippo's new Avatar. That is awesome, I hope using it for you avatar during the winners reign catches on. I now want to win more than ever!

Hey, Filippo,
We didn't see the "before" pictures, but your "after" pictures indicate a wonderful save on this one. Omigosh that's a beautiful instrument. I was all set to tell you about all the finger rests, end grafts and truss rod covers you could cut out of your wasted back. Not that it would have been any consolation. I am much more thrilled to see the thing saved!

Wud, I think you should consider an ancillary award: Best save by any Dufus!

Best to all,
Patrick

Nyazzip, you smoked my finish story. My little grand daughter likes to watch and help in the shop. I was shooting coat 8 of Nitro Lacquer (she has her own steamer punk goggles and mask). I over shot and got a run, I turned to set the can down muttering some mild expletives when I hear her say "I got it gramps" as I look up she is wiping the run off with a rough cloth rag. I suggested she help grandma with the horses <nicely>.

There are no "winners". Only survivors.
