....happy to be able to finally post shots of my latest, #6.
The body is Shane's Lutz on Euro maple, with macassar ebony appointments. Machines are Grover Imperials (man, are they heavy!) and the pickup is a Kent Armstrong floating handwound. (The tone control is a thumbwheel just above the upper lobe of the f-hole.) The finish is tinted Target Ultima. Highlites not visible include bolt-on neck, "screwless" trussrod cover, shopmade reverse-kerf linings and a sculpted bridge saddle.

Thanks for all the kind words. You never really know if you "got it right" until you put it out there - very gratifying. The design evolved and was influenced by many other existing shapes. The finish kind of provoked an almost "Pavlovian" response for me too. It just looked like....dessert! laughing6-hehe

Interesting to see some of the comments.
Re the trussrod cover, I tried the method Bob Long shared (eraser wedges) but was never really happy with my execution. So I opted for pairs of tiny (3mm X 1mm) rare earth magnets. Precisely locate & drill in head & cover, then CA in magnets. (Head magnets are 'sunk' & cover magnets are 'proud', so cover snaps into exact position as magnets grab). Anyway, here's a pic that should explain.

Very nice! I am just starting my first archtop and can only hope to it turns out half as nice.

Doesn't seem like there are that many archtop builders out there compared to everything else. So maybe this is really much more of a niche thing.
