I just received a bunch of different guitar molds and bending pattern sets from John Hall (5 different kinds in fact) bliss . The quality exceeds my expectations by a large margin. They are beautifully made and finished. I thorougly recommend them to you.....but you knew he produced good stuff already, right? [:Y:]

Thanks John!! [clap] [:Y:] [clap] [:Y:] [clap]

Cheers,
Dave F.

Yep - John is my go-to moldy guy too :D - and my Fox bender came from John too.

Nice score Dave - what body shapes did you get?

Hey Hesh,

The molds and bending pattern sets I made weren't that good (I guess I get impatient making them), so I decided to try John's. He makes them so much better than me.....and at a very reasonable cost too.

I went for the D'Angelico New Yorker 18" archtop, Benedetto 17" archtop, Martin 000/OM, Martin 0000/Jumbo, and Martin Drednought D28. That should keep me busy for a while! I haven't made an archtop yet, so that'll be all new and fun, albeit a substantial challenge! I've got some lovely archtop wood just begging for me to give it a go....

Cheers for now,
Dave F.

He's the go to guy for your bending needs as well. John was very generous with his time a few weeks back helping me select a new set of bending slats and giving me some pointers as well. A big thumbs up.

The best advice I ever got from John I should have already known. He recommends using
Dental carbide bits for use in routing out the rosette. He does not feel that the down-cutting bits from Stew-Mac work well. I finally tried some of the bits I have around my Dental office and he's absolutely right. The cut is much finer, no tear-out and they last longer.
I can order them in packs of 5 for anyone interested, for obvious reasons they don't come
in large diameters but they work so well a couple of extra passes to get the width
in the rosette I need is no problem.
Thanks John, right again.

Best
Bruce
