As I was putting an order together with LMI, I noticed that McFadden has an actual transparent grain filler now, not the neutral stuff.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Please lemme know. I ordered some to check it out, but experiences from anyone who has used it would be great.
Thanks

I've not tried it, but I'd love to hear how you get on with it when yours arrives Jim!

Cheers,

I called McFadden to ask them about it, as I was interested as well. It is a conventional oil based filler that uses silex or another transparent bulking medium. I kind of lost interest in it once I heard it was oil based. The "wipe off with burlap across the grain" type oil fillers rarely do a whole lot in achieving a dead flat surface. But definitely let us know what happens with your finishing trials.
