Well, I know this is a luthierie site, and this might be a bit off topic beehive (no sub forum for this), but where is a good forum on building violins?

Mike

Mike,
Try The Fiddle Hangout. They have a section in their Forum called "Fiddle Building, Setup, and Repair". Folks in there talking about everything from Hide Glue to putting Balsa Tops on fiddles.

I just started making a fiddle too. I've got the blocks cut out and will glue them to the mold tomorrow morning. I know Manuel has some pictures of his fiddles over on the Luthiers Community.

I have all of Strobels books that I'm building mine from. Wish there were some DVD's to buy on building a fiddle. I bet Manuel would answer any questions we may have.

Hey Big Mike,
Here's another I forgot.

It's called The violin Forum. They also have a topic in there called, "Violin Making and Restoration"

I think Barry Dudley hangs out in there a bit.

Hope this helps,
Big Chuck

Maestronet dot com is good. Some real experts over there.

Maestronet.com is the best for serious information. More full time violin makers participate there than the others.
