You will want virtually nil string clearance at the nut fingerboard junction.
Start with about 4 thou and lower from there.
More will just affect playability.
Never measured 12th position action, pretty much the same as the clearance to the fret on a fretted bass.
Hopefully your Saddles will go low enough, often you will need to shim the neck to get action low enough.
