Greetings to all,

I just purchased a couple of Rambutan boards that are very striking in appearance with lot of curl and figured grain. The wood in the rough is a kind of pinkish red with darker streaking. It is very heavy. Has anyone every used it for back and sides. I will post some pictures tomorrow. I find it a very interesting lumber.

Never heard of it. I guess I'll do some Google.
Build a OM or SJ with it.

I have attached a picture of this wood. The outline is a Classical Back. The wood comes from Indonesia. It is also know as Logan Berry. Grown for fruit. Has a nice curl and color variation.

Greetings,

I took a couple more pictures of his wood. I really like it. The pieces were waxed by my lumber supplier. I think what you see is a pretty good idea of the color and figure after finishing. I will probably cut this stuff up in a couple of weeks when I get some time.

Again, If anyone know about this particular wood when it comes to backs and sides, I would appreciate the information. I have really been taken by its appearance!!

Thanks
Ken
