Hmm, dunno about the maximum vacuum on that thing.

I just bought a reconditioned Rietschle Thomas Vac pump from veneersupplies.com for $119 USD . It pulls a max vac of 25.5 Hg or 86.3 kPa.
I'm not exactly sure what it means by 75 micron/10 Pascal maximum. But doesn't sound like it pulls a whole lot. Plus it sounds like its a Oiled pump whereas the RT pump is oil free so requires less maintenance.

I think for luthiery you'd want something to pull pretty strong, but thats not for me to say since I'm still new to the game as well.
