howdy folks, i have a piece of buckeye burl that is a 9.5" tall by 2" by 2' that i would like to get two tops out of. trouble is none of the local mills or woodworkers that i know personally have a band saw with a large enough cutting height and neither do i. i live in muncie which is in east central Indiana, if there are any luthiers reading this who are within couple hours of my area that have a band saw with a 10" or better cutting height who would be willing to offer me some help i would greatly appreciate it, i just started doing this a couple years ago and im only now 19 so you can imagine that i just havent had the money to spend on a 1000 dollar band saw just yet. any help would be greatly apreciated

Shad,

I am up in Jackson, MI and have a saw that could do that fine...13" resaw cap, 2HP set up for doing nothing but resawing...

There are some fellas closer to you that may be able to help you out...they might chime in here.
But if not, and 2 hours or so is an alright drive, you are more than welcome to bring it up here or mail it to me...

Stephen

Shad,

I have my big saw at my office, so the best days to come are during the week between 7:30 and 6 PM. I have meetings this friday, next week is relatively open...

kinda whenever...

Stephen
