 Post subject: Go Bar Length??
PostPosted: Sat May 01, 2010 6:16 pm
I have a GB deck I bought awhile ago. It is non adjustable for height.
The go bars I got with it are fiberglass rods cut to length for that fixed height.
I now am using radius dishes composed of two thicknesses of mdf, so they
are 1 1/2".
My question is are my go bars now too long? Seems to me they might make too
much pressure now. Anyone have a formula to measure the pressure relative to
go bar deflection?

There was something a few weeks ago. If I understood it correctly, for a given go-bar material, once you've flexed them a little bit, the pressure remains unchanged until you've bent them a ton. The farther you bend them, the squirrellier they'll get though. Make sure you wear your goggles.

If you got that from Blues Creek you are fine. The standard length is 21 1/2" about the same as the opening . I brace on a 1 " disk with the same go bars you do and they work. You need to have about an 8 to 10 lb force

John, do you glue on your tops and bottoms with the go bar deck?
