Anyone know of a lab that will do this? I have something that puzzles me and am willing to pay for a REAL test to determine the species. I'll get a pic up later.

Chris

I've had them identify a couple of samples - which they did, for free. Can't argue about that. The downside is that it took months, and although it wasn't clear from the website (url long since lost) the samples that I sent them were not ideal. If you use them, be sure to ask what they need to make a "definitive" identification.
Good luck.

I don't know who it was, but when I worked for Terramai, http://www.terramai.com/about/contact.html we received unknown wood from around the world, and needed it to be IDed before sale, we sent it to some one, possibly Bruce Hoadley, the author of the wood books. I can contact some one there if you still need help, or you can try some one from the contact list.
