Well, here are some pics.

The first is Sitka on Walnut w/ bloodwood binding, FB, and bridge.
The second (which is just about ready for finish) is Engelmann on Sapele w/black plastic binding, wenge rosette and headplate and Ebony FB and bridge.

Finish on the first was KTM-9 water based and I am planning on doing a French Polish on the 2nd.

I was reluctant to post these pics after seeing some of the amazing work done by other first timers, but oh well. There is an abundance of cosmetic flaws but I have been having a blast making them!

The first one was built loosely from Cumpiano's book. For the second, I used the L-00 plan from the following site.

So, to answer your question, I have no idea why the tonebars are spaced this way! haha. I was just following the plan. Do you think it will adversely affect the sound?

Congrats Eric on your first - she looks great! [:Y:]

Your second is coming along nicely too. L-OOs are a favorite of mine and I never miss out on an opportunity to check out the insides of an original L-OO or some of the other L-OO shaped guitars that Gibson made under private label. Your tone bars look fine IMHO too.

Thanks Hesh! That means a lot coming from you. I too love L-00's. I was much more brave when carving the braces and thickening the plates on this one (the first one, I erred on the side of structural integrity) and am looking forward to seeing how it sounds!

I am working to the OM plans from the same site, the tone bars are parallel on that plan also.
