Thanks again to Mike O'Melia for doing all the legwork on the ZipFlex group buy.

I'm getting ready to use a strip for the rosette on my first build and I'm wondering if anybody has used any of their ZipFlex stash yet?

If you've already started to use it do you have any tips for those of us that haven't?

I've bent it... And flexed it... And admired it under a 10 power glass. Does that count?

There are no unusual tips... That's the beauty of this stuff. Remember, less is more. That is perhaps the wisest advice I have heard regarding shell. And it applies to zipflex as well.

Can't wait to see some of ur projects. There has to be some good ideas developed out of having some 40 folks experimenting with it!

If there is interest in 6 months or so, I hope to do this again.

Cheers!

Mike

Same here. I keep it on my desk and pull it out and look at it every other day or so ;)

Thanks again Mike! And I'll be interested in more in 6 months for sure.

I had used it previously (over a year ago). I also just used it a month ago on a rosette ring.

You will be surprised how easy it is to use. The main thing when routing your channels, you want to make sure it is just slightly below the surface of the top. You don't want to sand much on these. I broke one, but it mated back together perfectly.

I've installed a 45 style rosette and began cutting recesses for the rest of the bindings and purflings on an OM-45. I'll post some pics when I'm all done for those who are interested.
