I've been reading about the presentation guitar in this lastest Fretboard Journal, the one inlaid by Larry Robinson. The body is from Holly.

Because of the general size of the trunk these come from.....could it be that this guitar in question used 1/4 sawn stock? Would one attempt to build with this wood using flat sawn, you think?

I'm thinking of doing something similiar and can get flat sawn wide enough to do a 00. (Heavily inlaid)............ I've worked with Holly before, but not on an instrument.

Any thoughts, experience, stories, warnings., advice, or help would be greatly appreciated.

I have some 8" quartersawn holly boards. You can find them large enough if you hunt.
