I've been looking for a reasonably inexpensive inspection cam to peer inside customer instruments without pulling strings, getting out the mirror and light, etc. The only caveat is that it must connect to a Mac laptop so I can grab still images. Any ideas? The common ones I've found are PC/Windows only or have their own (tiny) screens.

Thanks!

as soon as i saw your thread title i was prepared to dive in here and tell you about my little usb webcam, but it's for pc. they make those for macs too, don't they?

you can get one like this for about $20. might be a tight squeeze to get it in there with the strings on.

Rick,

Some of the old Logitech web cams, like the Pro 4000, are Mac-compatible, up to 10.5, anyway. I like that series of Logitech because the lens can be focused manually, with distances down to less than 1". They do require loosening the strings to get them into the soundhole, though.

Why do you need to connect it to a computer? Take a look at this inspection camera with built-in lights from Rigid.
