I drilled my tuner holes using the LMI Slotted Peghead jig with the 6mm drill bit. I followed the instructions on the O'Brien video tutorial and drilled as deep as the shaft is long. The tuner shafts are 6.32mm wide so I got a reamer to widen the hole. The problem here is that the reamer (Stew Mac 5mm to 9.5mm) doesn't get far enough up the taper to widen the hole to the proper size because the tip "bottoms out" due to the hole not being drilled all the way through. I've gone ahead and drilled it all the way through and I can ream it so the tip of the tuner shaft fits nice and snug, but now there's a little bit of play between the shaft and the hole at the perimeter of the peghead.

Is this how it's done or should I use a reamer with less taper? Have I put the structural integrity of the peghead in jeopardy by drilling those holes all the way through? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
