hello folks.
been away for a while but im working on my 4th now.
its a cedar top. and wengue for BnS, headplate, rossete.
I was thinking of making the bridge out of it too for a nice colour match.
is there any issue you can think of about this wood for a bridge? too light? tendency to splinter?

Weight should be about right. Might be a little concerned about splitting but it would probably work. I pretty much stick to what I'm familiar with for my classical bridges, though: Brazilian, Madagasscan, and E Indian rosewoods(in that order of preference).

right now I dont have any of those woods available in size for a bridge. I do have some pau ferro pieces.
but I have time to order some indian, IF they have it in stock. Last time they were out.

I've used Wenge for bridges and fingerboards on at least a half dozen guitars, never had any bridges split.

I've used it with no problems but it is splintery wood. If you're too worried about splitting use a flat/riftsawn piece.
