hey everyone.. i have an unused, unopened silicone heating blanket im trying to sell, not exactly sure what its worth now since i had it a couple years.. but its 6 x 34 inches, heats up to i believe around 350 degrees.. and i bought it for the purpose of bending sides on musical instruments, to soak the wood, place into a form with the blanket, and heat it to steam it to the shape of the form...

so, any idea what i could sell this for in new, unopened condition?

im not selling it yet, just seeing what its worth

It will depend on who manufactured it. Do you know?

You can get a new one - raw, with just leads, no plug or temp controller for about $80.

its a briskheat model i believe, has everything to it including wiring, temperature control, etc.. paid about $175 new and havent opened it, i had to stop making guitars due to an old neck injury coming back up on me which makes it a real "pain in the neck" to continue doing the work enough to justify using it

This is just my opinion, please don't take offense.

You got it for $175. If this is the going rate for a "new" one, I don't see why someone will want to buy your "used" one. I know, it's never been used & I'm sure it's fine but technically, it's used without any warranty, isn't it?

IMO, you're going to have to come down below what you paid.

the key is to the watts per inch. the lower cost blankets are often 2 1/2 watts per inch and will cost lower than the 5 watters.
I only use a 5 watt per inch for a better heating.

http://www.mcmaster.com/#silicone-heaters/=hx5bl8

Click the "Flexible Duty Silicone-Rubber Heat Sheets" button and you'll see your blanket size there. Ususally the price won't be higher or lower depending on the wattage per sq. in. That's not a factor really. The size and the quality dictate the price mostly. I've purchased hundreds of these blankets from McMaster of various sizes. This is good quality stuff.

If you have rather small electrical leads coming out of your pad then the "Flexible" section is the correct section to look at. If the lead coming out is more like a conventional wall plug cord.....then look in the "Heavy Duty Silicone-Rubber Heat Sheets" section.

It's worthless. In fact, to clear out some clutter for you, I am willing to pay the shipping to get it to me where it can be properly recycled(used) in a state of the art facility (my shop) to become something new and useful (another blanket for my bender). You're welcome!! laughing6-hehe

I suggest you post it in the classifieds to find a buyer.
