Hey all,

I need to remove a clear Mylar adhesive pickguard from a French Polished instrument. I have heard that Naptha ( or lighter fluid ) can be used to remove the pickguard - by wicking it gently under the edge of the guard, and continuing to wick it in while carefully peeling back the guard. However I am concerned that Naptha may react adversely with the French Polish finish. Anyone have experience of this - or could recommend an alternative means of removal.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

Dave
