I was wondering which finishing waxes are being used prior to shipping a new guitar...or what is recommended as a customer care product.

I have three guitars with a catalyzed urethane finish....very scratch resistant. Maybe I don't need to put anything on them.

I have three more with polished nitro finishes. I'm thinking they could use a coat of....something.

Or perhaps a final coat of wax is not a common practice?

I apply a paste wax to my French Polish guitars, it's Butchers Boston Polish. You could apply it to any finish, it won't hurt it. For lacquers and pollies I use a straight polish, no wax. I like Ken Smith's polish but have used Novus #1 at times as well.
