Anybody make a Well/Karol rosette device, or is making it myself the only option?

I made up a batch of them a little while ago. The are the best for rosettes. Getting much cleaner results than with a Foredom/Dremel. Super happy.

I still have some left, was thinking about putting them up in the classifieds here.

Let me know if you want one.

Joel

GW,
Go all out and buy the Bishop Cochran router base. I love mine. The fins adjustments are excellent and you can pretty much adjust everything. There is a fine depth adjustment with a depth stop, so you can set the full depth so you wont cut through the top, then slowly sneak up on the final depth by using the depth adjustment screw. I realyl can't say enough good things about it. And on top of how well it performs, it is a killer anodized red color. It is a bit pricey though at about $300 with the small diameter attachment and shipping, but I don't regret spending the money.

I believe there are some videos by Chris Paulick in the tutorials section on this.

Those are Chris' videos linked above. I'll add that info to the post.

I called Sylvan and got his last one, apparently he's not making anymore. $125 shipped, not bad.

Tony, I probably would have sprung for that but I didn't check back in time, looks nice! I might still spring for it.

I thought about making one from the video tutorial, but I'm too lazy. I'm falling into the I'd rather make guitars, not jigs" category, especuially as my time is very limited at this point, what with full time repairs, two kids (one an infant) and a wife.

If you were closer, I would let you borrow it to see if you liked it. And I need it for some rosettes very soon, so I can not ship it to you for a test drive. I really love it. I have used it to route saddle and truss rod slots with the straight edge guide. Great tool. I am sure you will like your Wells Karol jig. It is also an excellent tool.
