I've had five mahogany sides break in a row, and I'm starting to get mystified (read P0'd)...

Start bend at 280 at waist, go halfway down, bouts at 300-320, tighten waist completely, usual routine which has been working fine for years. Thickness 80-95 depending on model.
Breaks happening in different spots along the edges. Misted but not soaked.
Anyone else had a bad breaking streak like this?

Have all of the sides come from the same board? Some wood doesn't particularly want to be a guitar. You might try supersoft-I've used that with success on woods I thought might give me some trouble.

Also, I only built a couple with non laminated sides before switching over 6+yrs ago and I bend things pretty thin these days so I might be mistaken but it sounds like you're bending a bit on the thick side (.08 sounds about right to me but .095 is pretty beefy).

I had some problems with some quilted mahogany once. The little blisters kept separating, had to keep gluing them down.

I'd go a bit under 008, increase the water a bit and wrap the wood in alu foil.

Speaking of quilted, I tried to bend some offcuts from my "the tree" set and even at 005 it was pretty much impossible to bend it (although at that time I didn't know the foil trick). Anyway quilted is definitely a case for super soft.

The moist brown wrapping paper thing and using two blankets are a big help for me with tough woods. Sounds like your technique and temps are OK.
