I glued some bwb fiber strips to some maple to use as binding. When Itried to bend the binding what I suspected would happen did happen. The heat released the glue and the bwb fiber strips delaminated. I used regular Titebond. What glue should I use so the heat from the bending iron won't release it?

Stephen: Titebond will work. Try bending in pairs with the purfling back to back and the two strips wraped in masking tape in about 5 or so spots.

Titebond 2 and 3 are both heat resistant (3 is also water resistant) and work very well for gluing purfling to binding. I use Titebond 3 to glue fiber b/w/b to my binding before I bend and have never had a separation.

I don't know about Titebond II being heat resistant. I glued a bridge with it and it moved after I clamped it. I didn't notice this until the next day but I was able to get it off using just heat.

LMII white works for me; even on Venetian cutaways.
