Got a new computer running windows 8. What am I missing to be able to click on and view a larger version of the attached photos here in the forum? Having problems viewing embedded videos too, but only on IE. I can view the videos with Google Chrome. I'm only having trouble viewing videos here on the forum, no trouble in either browser on You Tube. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Wendy

I am on a Mac running System 10.8.2. OLF attachments used to open for me just fine using IE, but in the last little while they don't open with it. Just checked, and I get the same problem with Chrome and Firefox. I wonder if this has anything to do with the security fixes to Java that started in February . . . that's the only thing I know that's changed recently. Anyone else having this issue?

Run ie from the desktop if it is not an rt device. Flash was so full of security issues IE only allowed it to run from white listed sites. I think I read that that policy will change with an update.

Or u se chrome or Firefox.

I'm running Win 8, and use Firefox. No issues at all with viewing photos or videos. Just make sure you have all of the necessary add-ons loaded.

Well, Lance did just change a setting in the forum software a couple weeks ago or so, which makes it so all attached photos are full size to begin with rather than a thumbnail that you have to click on to get the full version. Does your new computer have a higher resolution monitor than you're used to? The photos may be full size already but just take up less screen space due to that.

Old posts (before the option change) still have clickable thumbnails though, so go to doc-u-build or something where it's easy to find older photo-filled threads and see if they have clickable thumbnails.

High-res monitors are a blessing and a curse. One of my criteria when buying new LCD monitors (because they only look good at their native resolution) is to get one with fairly large pixels so I don't have to get my face too close to the screen to see full detail. That is, a 23" 1920x1080 monitor like mine has larger pixels than a 22" monitor of the same resolution. Called dot pitch http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dot_pitch. My current is 265 micrometers in that chart. And my previous monitor was 20.1" 1680x1050, which is 258 micrometer pitch. Surprisingly, even a difference that small is quite noticeable, as my current monitor is much more readable.

As for videos... I got nothin'.

John.. I am running it from the desktop.

Dennis, thankyou! You are absolutely right, I looked at some older posts and am able to click and view larger versions of photos. I was thinking that the photos in the newer posts were looking larger, so that explains it. What threw me, and what I still don't understand is why they say for eg: "viewed 14 times". Does that meant that some people are still able to click and enlarge?

Now, I just have to figure out the video issue in IE. I can view them fine with Google Chrome, but in IE I get sound but no visual.
