Since this is my forum, I can put off topic stuff in the main board [:Y:]

The weather has finally broke and my daughter is taking advantage of it.
She had a change to ride her new horse for the first time last weekend.
He's not new to us, she has ridden him for two years. We just "bought" him
in February, so he is "officially" her horse now. Previously owned by our 4H leader/trainer
It was a good day.

Thanks for looking!

Lance, my "last" mare went to a youngster the same way... 4H loaner and then as a gift "Par Kings Gypsy Rose" ended up loving young Hanifa more that she loved me... so it was a "no brainer". [ and Rose and I liked each other real well]

I ran the 4H horse program and the Pony Club up here for a lot of years... Our Motto WAS:

"We'd rather have our girls foolin' around with horses than.... horsen' around with fools"!!

They look great together...

Mike J.

BTW.... Hanifa has grown up some since then and is in Denver today at the Collegiate Championships....on a younger horse with the Western Washington University Equestrian Team. Rose is happily in semi-retirement running roughshod over a younger mare and lording it over her herd of goats. MJ

A little less hide glue and a whole lot more fun! Horses have become like pianos. Its nice to see good ones loved and in a good home rather than destroyed because they are no longer wanted.

Yep,
Here is Benny getting ready to "load" yesterday. Getting on a trailer has always been
his weak spot. So the pads are to protect his legs and head.

What I find IMPRESSIVE Lance is that, with young girls who are into horses, you seem to have managed to have time and finances to pursue interests and "hobbies" other than:

"Daddy we need a new..... horse, tack, saddle, trailer, truck, boots, jodhpurs, spurs, helmets, entry fees, lesson fees, the vet to come out, we need you to drive us, ......... etc., etc."

However.... the smiles, and the first "Look Daddy, I won!" are worth every penny, every mile, and backache [what you get from being your own farrier] .

lance, have you not yet realized that owning a horse is a primary fundamental definition of poverty.

spent some years driving a 7 horse truck and a 26 foot trailer around the se aus show circuits.

woldn't trade the experience for anything, except perhaps the chance to do it again!!!
