Hi folks,
this is my very first question, I just joined the forum yesterday, I'm eager to discuss with you all !

Here is a first question :
I 've posted in the mando photo section some pics of my work, and my question is related to my last build I've just finished.

I wish now to make a custom case for it (because this is not a standard size Les Paul (70% reduced), and because I love to do all kinds of things by myself, this is not for making savings ).

I have already built some custom shaped cases (you can see one for a uke on my site), and this is what I want to do here, but I would like to have the Gibson style, so to cover it with some kind of Tolex.

Does anyone have some experience on how to do that, especially how to fold along curves, what process to respect for overlapping, possibly sewing, etc ...
I'm not asking for the square shape cases, in that case it is easy, but I'm questioning for the odd shapes, rounded, and so on.

Hope my question is clear ...

I'm hardly looking for informations on that kind of project, and I found at last something,
for the record, I put the link here :

It's exactly what I want to do, unfortunately, it doesn't give much details on the faux leather steps, but it shows it should be possible to fold following the curves, using Neopren contact cement.

Anyway I will give this a try and will post here my feedback.

Thats a nice 5 string octave mando that you've made! Im guessing that your a fan of Michael Kang/The String Cheese Incident (he plays a 5 string electric octave mando made by Rono). I had the pleasure of seeing the perform for 3 nights in a row last month at the Forcastle Music Festival in Louisville Kentucky

I only know him on Youtube, he's not very known on that side of the ocean. I found him when I was looking for documentation at the beginning of my project. His music is very cool, you're lucky to see him on stage. Unfortunalely, I am far from being able to play as well as him on my emando, but now, I only have to tame the beast, and the amp, and discover all the possibilities of electified instruments (it's my first time with electro )
