Excellent old school instrument. Wish I was up to trying something like that.

PS: Who is that good looking dude holding it? Went out and hired a model I see.

Beautiful instrument! And I like the idea of building one more for yourself and destroying the forms. Kudos for that. Really cool.

Break the mold! Just like when they made you my friend.

That is a little beauty. One lucky gal you have there. I would love to hear that one played at the hippy fest and take 'er for a spin myself. Um......... the guitar. Maybe I'll head out your way for that. I might run into a few of my old friends. [:Y:]

Good to see you posting a few pics.

The Best To You,
Danny

Voluptuous is pretty descriptive; this parlor certainly has a very inviting organic look with nice soft lines. The oil finish sets it off perfectly IMO.

Very nice, Padma. Your little Sweetie is a fortunate lady. I do remember the classical you built for her, with fanned frets, nonetheless. And we got to see a picture of her holding it in that thread. She might be camera shy, but she looked happy in that picture. Press on, my man. I always enjoy seeing your work.

Cool beans Padmer, that is one sweet ax you made from dried up old wood chunks. I always admire your work and wish I had talent like you. Keep posting pics of your builds.

Thanks for sharing

Hutch

@ Spyder,

The perimeter shape is a morph between a Benedetto and a Martin 017 then scaled to parlor size.
Regarding the "belly button" as you put it...in order get them deep voluptuous
recurves, a 1 1/2" thick bolt was used which is about double the thickness to width proportion commonly used on a archtop. So me had to compensate and do some non traditional thicknesses/curves on the back side of the plates to prevent plate blow out from a sudden knock or bang were the plate would have been virtual end grain from them deep recurves....cant see it on the outside ... and me didn't take pics while building. Sorry.

@ Beth... thank you...yes me was after that 1920s look on this build.
