Hi ,
For some of you who like to have a neat plan drawn before starting a new build I share with you my last software tool that could be of help, I hope.
This tool can do part of the job for you, at least for the most painful part which is designing the fretboard in details and setting the proper action and angles.
Here it is, it's on my web site :
http://www.labellenote.fr/articles.php?lng=en&pg=295

You obtain an SVG format file, that can be used in any CAD software as a starting point to design the rest of the instrument around it.
I designed it for any kind of instruments, even double string courses and even fretless.
Included is a fair layout of the strings on the nut and bridge, taking into account the string gauges.

I let you discover. It's free of charge, free of advertising
Please give me your feadback, there is for sure room for enhancements.
Cheers,
Christophe [:Y:]
