I bought some Rosewood bridges from Stew-Mac and they have some kind of finish on them. I didn't know that Rosewood needed any finish except fingerboard oil.

I assume you're taking about a classical guitar bridge, in which case it's traditional for the bridge to be finished.

I wouldn't think Stew Mac would send bridges with finish as most people prefer to select their own finishing materials. Are you sure they aren't just well polished raw wood?
