An update from Stephen Rees, posted on the Delcamp luthier forum.

You have to dig through to the membership application form (for teh museum) to find an address to send enquiries to. Just keep digging.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted with permission from the Mods .....

The long awaited "Making a Spanish Guitar" by José L Romanillos is now available !! ..... the culmination of many years of hard work, José and his wife Marian have produced a superb, richly detailed gem!

This hardback publication describes how to make a Spanish guitar according to the principles and methods of Jose Romanillos in his own words, with a few anecdotes along the way! The various chapters describe in great detail the various stages of construction and there are many photographs and drawings to illustrate Jose's methods, ideas, and many of his tools and jigs. Also included are full size plans of a Romanillos guitar and of the Solera.

This is a specialist publication and as such is not available from the usual mass-market sellers, and is currently not available on any commercial site .... no easy 'click 'n buy' or 'next day delivery' here I'm afraid.

At the moment, the book is only available from the authors at a cost of €70 Euros plus postage & packing. You will need to contact José Romanillos directly to place your order and he will send you details of payment options and instructions .... please be patient; the book has only been out for a few days and you will appreciated how busy things will be in the Romanillos household!!

As I do not wish to publish a private email address here, the best way to make contact is via the website of the "Asociación de Violería y Organología Instrumental Romanillos-Harris" at http://www.romanillos.org .... although the book is not listed on the Programmes & Publications page, there is at least the address for email contact.
(n.b. Please use the email address you find for contact only, and not for PayPal payment; Thanks!)

Enjoy !!

I got a reply from Mr. Romanillos and the price of the book to the US is 106 euros/&145.
He will autograph it if you like.
Has anyone got their book and what do you think of it?
Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I am wondering how long it is taking Jose and Miriam to respond to e-mails at the moment given the interest in his book - I sent an e-mail to the e-mail address on romanillos.org about 1 week ago but have received no reply as yet. I'm wondering whether my e-mail got through and don't want to be "pushy" and send a second e-mail if it is not necessary. For all of you who have received replies, could you tell me how long it was before you got a response.

Thanks,
Steve.

Thanks for the reply, Jim. It seems that some people are still waiting for replies after 1 week (post paypal meltdown), so I will wait for a reply for another week or so before e-mailing again.

Regards,
Steve.

Hi all,

I received a response from Mr Romanillos this morning and there are still issues with the Paypal site. He hope to have the issues resolved in the next week or so. There is still the option of direct bank transfer but Ill wait until the paypal option is available again.

Thanks for all your responses.

Regards,
Steve.

Anyone here heard from Jose Romanillos in the last week or so? A friend of mine in Zaragoza tried e-mailing to order the book with no response. Then he called several times to his home outside Siguenza with no answer. He speculates that Jose and Marian have moved to their apartment in Madrid to escape the cold or, possibly, there may be health problems.

I had not heard about the Paypal problems.

Max

I think I'm gonna wait till things die down a bit. Plus after a couple weeks doing repairs I'll have the money for it. Looking forward to it though.

If anyone could P.M. me the email address to contact Mr. Romanillos about ordering this book, that would be greatly appreciated. I could not find it anywhere on the website.

Best,

Jonas
