My son has a habit of leaving half-eaten bowls of cereal in the sink. When the milk evaporates, the cereal is welded to the bowl. It would probably be strong enough to hold a bridge on a guitar...

I believe milk contains caesin ( about 80%), protein used in some glues. As I remember they are not reversable.
Try google for caesin glues.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Otherwise known as Casein glue. I tried making some a couple of years ago. My attempt didn't go too well but apparently it's a very strong glue once you get it right.

When I was an urchin, (people were still driving Crosleys and Hudsons) evaporated milk was my mother's favorite glue for repairing broken pottery or porcelain knick-knacks.

Funny stuff. I use rice glue or crafts sometimes but never tried THAT before!
