The last several times I have bent binding I used 3M 2080EL Edge Lock tape to hold the pieces together. It worked great and came off easily compared to other tapes I have used, the brown binding tape being the worst.

Good stuff for taping binding together for bending in the bender.

Terence: Thanks for that info...! I use regular masking tape and it is a bear to remove after going through the bender. Will give this a try next time.

I do know about getting tape off after it has melted in. Very difficult. Now I just cut strips of paper and wrap tightly, followed by a little masking tape. Works for me

Green painters tape for me. I always have it around the shop anyway and it comes off clean.

Mineral spirits (varsol) should remove the melted in adhesive.
