Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my latest build. This guitar started life as a "For Sale" build, which is a first for me as I only build on a commission basis usually. Upon posting pictures of it on Facebook just before I started to spray lacquer, I had a person purchase it at my full asking price! Once the guitar was spoken for I told the new owner to come up with any inlay that would have special meaning to them, and I'd be happy to do it prior to starting the finish process. After about a week of thinking, the client told me that she wanted "A rose with bats flying out of it." I wasn't surprises with this request seeing as she was covered in "Gothy" tattoos from head to toe, but I was a little concerned with how I could pull it off without looking silly. In the end, Im super happy with how it all came out. The guitar is a great reflection of the new owners awesome personality, and it sounds great as well. I plan on building a couple of more "For Sale" guitars from time to time as well!

Beautiful. I saw a picture of you on your website and thought you looked familiar. Do you play at Seacrest Beach? If so, I believe we saw you there this summer and really enjoyed your music.

Just in time for Halloween. I didn't comment on your last one Chris. This one is equally outstanding. I used that wood combo once and it worked!

That's a very special looking guitar (like most all I've seen of yours) and sounds and looks like it's gone to a special lady.
Congrats!

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

OK. Did you change up your already cool bridge design to look like bat wings?

Casey: That sure was me down in Seacrest! Small world haha. Make sure to stop and say hi next time you're down on 30A. I gig 5-6 days a week most of the year.

Danny: no this is my standard bridge design, but with it being in a bat themed guitar it makes it look like a bat now!

I really like the way this all came together. Great work! The colors and layout all play well together. This could easily have been done with too heavy a hand; you nailed it.
