Has anyone heard from Duh Padma recently. I need ego and humor injections...

He's been over at luthiercom lately. Sounds like he's taking a few months off building at the moment, but otherwise doing pretty well.

He's taken himself "off line" pretty much, except to answer email, and get caught up on Facebook, about once a month. I think he prefers contact by his land line, instead of the usual means of our times.

It's been pretty boring around here without him.

I was thinking about him the other day, too. I know several regulars here do not like the Padma, but I think he's entertaining and I think he actually has a very interesting concept for his instruments. Sure, he's a bit off the page, but I'm pretty sure he likes it that way.

Yep he's known right across the globe for sure, and it would be pretty boring if we were all cut from the same cloth and marched to the same drum.

You have that right my friend. I think possibly some time in the colonies, like us, might be enlightening for some. haha

Cheers!

He loved to push people's buttons. He was good at it.

You can also find him over on John Hall's 'Kit Guitars' forum sometimes.
Definitely not your 'neuro-typical'. Give the man credit though, he sure can build.

I kinda miss him and his funny ways of expressing himself. I wish he would drop by now and then..

What I don't miss is all the devisivness. I wish they could all come back and bury that crap and get on with building and sharing. Agree to disagree and move on.

I don't understand why some of you start these threads. If you miss someone that is not here find them, contact them and be good with it.

When you start threads like these invariably someone says something that pisses off someone else and ill feelings result....

So no firestorm from me but this thread was not a good idea and does not contribute to preserving or growing our shared resource, the OLF in any way.

Lance does a wonderful job of balancing his reality of what it means to keep the lights on for us AND dealing with all the personalities here fairly. My preference is to help him succeed for all of us so that we have the OLF for another decade and more.

Hesh nailed it. Maybe this will be the last time we see a thread like this?
