From Kelcey Alonz, OLF Sponsor and owner of Guitar Connoisseur.

I wanted to take a moment to share some exciting news with you all.

Subscriptions are here. You can now enjoy a seamless reading experience on your devices (iPad, iPhone, android and kindle in most countries).

Up to this point guitar connoisseur has been running on a web based platform and once a new issue was launched the old issue disappeared. I know this frustrated a lot of readers. Slow internet connections were a problem for some readers as well as they experienced slow load times.

Well those are problems of the past.

Guitar connoisseur is proud to announce digital distribution and subscriptions via magzster who offers 27 million users, 7500 magazines, in 212 countries to 3000 publishers.

What does this mean for us? It means a bigger audience, more exposure and to be seen in markets we have never tapped before.

As far as guitar connoisseur itself is concerned readers can now enjoy a much better reading experience with enhanced functionality that were not possible on the web version.

I'm talking high quality graphics, rich text and pinch zooming and very fluid page turning.

The best part? You get to keep your magazines to read when and where you like, all of our past issues are available as well.

How do will subscriptions cost?
One year will cost $4.99 and past issues will run for $1.99
Luthiers Forum members however get a free complimentary subscription for the year.
Instructions:1. Go to coupon redemption page http://www.magzter.com/coupon/redeem
2. Login or Register with Magzter and enter the coupon code: FREELUTHF
3. Go to “My Purchases” page to read the subscribed magazine

Thank you

Kelcey Alonzo

The magazine looks good, but I have very high speed internet and as I try to page it takes about 3-4 seconds of a whirling circle before it loads. I only mention it has you may want to make sure that there is a good first time experience.

Hey Everybody, it's good to connect with you all. Yes tom, our mission statement is:

"Instead of focusing on the manufacturing industry as most guitar magazines do, Guitar Connoisseur covers, craft luthiers and "Haute Guitars". Anything in the periphery of guitars is covered such as Handmade guitars, Amps, Pedals, Pickups, and just about anything boutique that's catering in a small scale to the high-end guitar market."

That's an excellent point john. Go ahead and sign up for the subscription and you will see that it's a world of difference from the website.

I found that downloading the Magzter app and choosing "My Collections"
your issue loads quickly

Thats exactly right CraigG! I can't express how important it is to use the Magzster app. This is the best experience, to view it on the web is helpful if you aren't sure you want to download the issue to your device, but for the full reading experience the App is essential. The other reason to use the app is because since we are doing subscriptions you get push notifications when a new issue is out. You can also share, bookmark, & clip content.

The other cool thing is you can see our back issues are relatively accessible through the app so if you want one of those you can simply download it for a small price ($1.99)

Oh well, I chatted with them. They do not support any Microsoft devices so with out an apple product or android I am out of luck as paging takes 3-4 seconds for the first time to a page. The site does no pre-load on chrome.

hi John,

I'm very sorry to hear that, and I agree that the page loading time does take a good few seconds. I've had excellent results viewing the web version with firefox and safari.

Hopefully the content is worth it for you to wait out the few seconds. Sorry

Based on your suggestion I tried a different browser, I had better results with Microsoft's edge browser. It cut the load time in half as it would render the first page of a two page spread while downloading the second. Chrome seemed to download both pages of a two page spread before displaying.

The experience was not fast but it was not painful so I was able to enjoy the magazine.

Thank you

Glad to hear john. Guitar Connoisseur is a labor of love and we want as many people who love guitars and players to see it.
