Can anyone recommend a good source for a set of small brad tip drills, such as for position dots?

I bought what looked like a beautiful set from Harbor Freight. Everything was machined remarkably nicely, except the points were off center, as if they were sharpened free hand. No wonder most of the packets on the display had been opened and returned.

Not cheap, but I use these from woodcraft. I have the standard and metric sets. It's nice to have the metric set to drill cross dowel hole for M&T neck joint. Makes the dowel fit perfectly.

The Lee Valley bits are very good quality and you can buy individual sizes.

I got the Harbor Freight ones. They are OK. Never had an issue with them. However, I think I will invest in a high grade 7mm one.

The really small brad point bits I have aren't really brad points at all. They have a different point, but are, pointed, without the brads at the edges. I think the first true brad point is about 1/8".

I went to woodcraft today to pick up one 1/16" bit. They didn't have any in singles so I walked away with this set.

The lipped brad points from Lee Valley are very nice. Drill effortlessly with no tearout.
I've had a set for years and they still drill cleanly.

I also have some lipped brad point bits from Lee Valley, which I bought for making perfect holes for fretboard inlays but use for other purposes as well. I think these are better than I'd need for most purposes, where the hole doesn't show, but, while expensive, they're sure nice to have.
