Not sure if this is appropriate place to ask this…

Has anyone built an instrument storage cabinet or added humidty control to an existing piece of furniture? If so, would you mind to share your experience?

Something along the lines of the American Music Furniture style?

Also interested. I have looked at repurposing a gun cabinet or china cabinet, but the ones I have eyeballed lack enough depth to put guitars in. Then I look at building one, but the woodshop is overbooked with guitars and honey-do's....then I look at buying one... and the circuit resumes.

I have always wanted to do this too. Maybe one day.

I haven’t spent a lot of time reviewing but this is interesting.

Brad, here are a couple a friend and I have been making.
They're designed to hang on the wall with a french cleat. Glass goes in the openings you see here.
They don't have climate control as they are for a climate controlled room. Climate control would be a nice addition but I couldn't figure out haw to do that very well.
My major mistake was using split doors, when they're closed they obstruct the view of the instrument, other than that they're pretty nice.
If I was doing it again I'd use a single door. Easier to construct too!

FWIW, these used to be filled with "showcase" guitars in the wood room at Hibdon.
I would love to have one, it would have to be modified for your application...
