Got the "that's all folks" email from LMI a while ago. Picked up a few deals on the closeouts. Happy retirement to the crew--I'll miss having them around.

I ordered some birdseye maple on their last day of official operation. It arrived a couple of days ago.
It was really nice. I figured they sill might have some unsold wood, so I emailed them to ask if it was possible to buy a duplicate order of the maple. Their response was, "Sorry, the building is empty."
It was a bit somber to see confirmation that they are gone.
My very first order in 1982 was for three neck blanks of birdseye maple at $5. each.
My last, was two birdseye maple neck blanks for $29. each. reduced from $118.
Wow. No more.

Does anyone know if the instruction videos and other luthier content from their old web site will be hosted somewhere else?

Their website is archived on the Wayback Machine---www.archive.org. It's pretty slow, and I don't know what all is out there, but it's worth a shot.

Encouraging news about LMII and StewMac. Looks like StewMac is going to pick up some of the LMI product line.

https://www.lmii.com/

I'm very glad to hear that! As it's settling in that LMI had Items I can't find elsewhere.
