Just wanted to share this. Someone went to an awful lot of trouble showing us how to wire up a simple contactor and wireless remote. Take a look at his webpage with great pics and dialog.

I have one of the 110 v remote models you get at Woodcraft and other woodworking places, and it is great. I got it on sale for about $45. Since I got the Dirt Devil, I keep the vacuum under a table, and the DD is buried behind my drill press.  I use a long hose to get around.  The switch makes me use my system every time instead of forgetting.  I also have a couple of the Craftsman auto starters for my ROS and they are only about 20 bucks.  I have a small portable Shop Vac that I use for the ROS, and I use a bag in it.  It works great with the auto-switch.  Turn on the sander, the vac starts in about a second.  Turn off the sander, the vac turns off in a couple of seconds.  Stays on long enough to clear the system of dust.
