Bob,
I'm having trouble bringing up some of the tutorials, the ones by Hesh. Is there a trick that I don't know about, or are they no longer available for some reason?
Thanks,
Walter

FOr those of you who don't know, Bob has expended a tremendous effort to pu these together. When the forum moved into a new software package, a lot (most, all, I don't know how many..) of the links were broken.

THANK YOU BOB! This is the "best of" the OLF in my opinion. Your passion, dedication, and efforts are world wide reknown. Thanks again bliss

Some of these reside on the old OLF server, and as Lance said in another thread, that site has to be rebooted.

Is rebooting that server something that is doable or are all of these toots forever lost?

I was speculating, based on the jigs and tools thingy being unavailable too. I don't know if anything has been lost, one way or another. Lance just said the old site needs rebooting for that to work. I put 2 & 2 together and got 5. :D

Once again, thanks to all who contributed to the toots and who searched them out after the switch to the new software. [:Y:]

I agree Pat. The archived tutorials are a great resource. I have made use of the one on hide glue, but it's time for me to make another batch and I wanted to refresh my memory, but it didn't come up (neither my memory or the totorial). Then I tried a few others and it kind of looks like Hesh has been censored.

Walnut my friend no worries please I am sure that there is no foul play here. I don't understand why my toots and seemingly only my toots are not working all of a sudden but I am sure that there is no hidden agenda.

Trust me - no one is sadder about this than I am........

I am very glad that the HHG toot helped you and if you have any questions, ever, just PM or email me and I am always happy to help.

None of the links at the top of the current OLF page work right now. All, I believe, for the aforementioned reason.

Indeed!
We need to pull a few of the toots off the old server, they some how
didnt make it into the archive DB and are floating over there in the main
forum section. So we are debating on having our developers archive the entire
old OLF and bring it over, or just grab the important stuff, and copy it over here.

Always something to do ;)

Yup-
Great resource.
It seems that the tutorials on http://luthiersforum.3element.com aren't loading, though.

Hey, Hesh! I'm sure it's nothing personal!

Cheers
John

This is one of those situations where there is no easy answer.

We went through all of this when we converted off of the WebWiz software and went to phpbb software. Some of the threads didn't convert clean. We do have them still on the old server, but we need to move all of these "other" threads over by hand and that is a daunting challenge.

We need to just bite the bullet and do it.
